EHWC STATEMENTS OF FAITH
Truth #1- Salvation only comes through Jesus Christ, by no other name can man be saved, and only by the drawing of the Spirit can we come to him, not by just the repetition of words. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ who shed His blood for the remission of sins. There must be repentance and a real change !! (Acts 4:10-12; 16:31; John 3:16-17; 10: 9-10; Romans 10:9-10; Eph. 2:8-9)
Truth #2- The Bible is the Word of God, written by men inspired of the Holy Ghost. Both the Old & New Testament are for our benefit. We believe it is the infallible Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16; John 10:35; II Peter 1:20-21; Heb. 1:1-2)
Truth #3 - The Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God Almighty, contains His birth, his life, his death, his resurrection, his ascension, and his second coming & his message of the Kingdom of God. (Romans 1:4; John 1: 1-17)
Truth #4 - Water Baptism is the command of the Lord, not to be saved, but in total submersion, is the powerful symbol to the world of our denouncing the old sinful life, laying it down in the death of Jesus and picking up a new life in the resurrection of Christ. Baptized into the Body of Christ in his name & authority. (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4; I Cor. 1:17-18; 12:13; Gal. 3:27)
Truth #5 - The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is the empowerment of the saints (his witnesses), the spiritual overflow as first evidenced in Acts chapter 2. Speaking in other tongues is the initial evidence of this overflow. ( Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; Mark 16:17)
Truth #6 - It is impossible to please God without trusting in His never lying Word (spoken or written)- this is called “Faith”. (Hebrews 11:6)
Truth #7 - We believe that the acts, signs, and wonders spoken in the Bible, are still able to be performed by God today. Including but not restricted to the following:
Healing, miracles, deliverance, casting out devils, prophecy, the gifts of the Spirit in operation, etc. (Hebrews 13:8)
Truth #8 - That every man is responsible before God for their own choices, actions, words, and works. By these we will be judged of Christ. (Rev. 20:12; Matt. 12:36-37; Jude 15)
Truth #9 - The teachings of Christ and his life are an example to us of the character and personage of God that is to grow in our lives. (John 8:31-32; Acts 28:31; Acts 5:42)
Truth #10 - The church’s mission is based upon the Great Commandments and the Great Commission. ( Mark 16: 15; Matthew 22:37-40)
Truth #11 - The Tithe is holy unto the Lord. A believer that says they are a member of the local church must bring the tithe into the storehouse (church) in obedience to God’s Word. Tithing breaks the idolatry of the love of money. Every member supplieth in love and gives where their heart is; this in turn adds financial life to the local church. God will in turn open the windows of Heaven and pour you out a blessing that there is not room enough to receive it all. (Malachi 3:10; Luke 11:42; Lev. 27: 30-31)
Truth #12 - That Praise and Worship be offered up unto the Lord, because of his works and because of who He Is. (I Chron. 16:25; Psalms 7:17; 9:11; 22:3; 34:1; Psalms 150; Heb. 2:12; I Peter 2:9; Ex. 34:14; Ps. 5:7; 29:2)
Truth #13 - God gave man dominion over the earth and every living thing. We have godly authority to represent God to all the earth. We are ambassadors of Christ; we wear his name. ( II Cor. 5:20; Gen. 1: 27-28; Col. 3:17)
